Sculptured hair got a playful touch with the help of a ponytail that accented a deeply dramatic, bold mouth."The lips are kind of a maroon-merlot-blackberry mix," said Lucero. "I really wanted this to be a powerful, sexy siren effect. The deep tone goes so well with all the colors in the collection and is so striking." A mixture of deep-red lipstick and creamy brown eyeliner (yes, eyeliner!) combined for a rich wine stain; this was prevented from "becoming too goth" with pink-tinted cheeks, and rosy beige and champagne shadows on the eyes.Stylist Devin Toth stepped in for Ted Gibson, who was in Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards, and fashioned the hair into a modern take on iconic Veronica Lake waves. He used large bobby pins in a deliberately noticeable way toFeather hair frame the face, and added a youthful mood by tying the hair into a low, loose pony.Models were treated to a skin treatment session courtesy of Clarisonic, using Sonic cleansing tools and Opal eye-serum-application system, and manicurists applied an opaque, creamy army green to the nails to contrast and balance the glam makeup and hair.Makeup at Lela Rose Fall 2011.
